№ 001 / Care ★ Or don’t ★

Wash cold.
Hang to dry.

Heavy 8oz cotton, screen-printed by hand. Treated right, these shirts outlive the joke on them. Treated wrong, the print cracks in a season and you’ll act surprised.

Below is the entire care label, expanded for people who don’t read care labels.

№ 002 / The Method ★ Do these, in order ★
01
Wash cold.

Cold water, gentle cycle. Hot water makes the cotton shrink and the print crack. Save the hot water for things that actually need it, like your delusions.

02
Inside out.

Always. The print rubs against the drum if it’s facing out, and after enough cycles you’ll have a faded shirt and questions. Inside out, every time.

03
Do not iron the print.

The print is plastisol. It melts. Iron the back of the shirt, the sleeves, anywhere there’s no ink. If the shirt is wrinkled across the chest, hang it up while it’s damp and let gravity do the job.

If you melt the print, that’s on you. We won’t replace it.

04
Tumble dry low. or hang.

Low heat tumble is fine. High heat is the enemy of every screen print ever made. Hanging is better. Hanging on a wood hanger in shade is best. Don’t leave it out in direct sun for 6 hours. the cotton sun-bleaches.

05
No bleach.

Obvious. Also no fabric softener. it coats the cotton and dulls the print.

If you got something on it, dab cold water and a little dish soap with a soft cloth. Don’t scrub. Don’t panic.

06
Dry clean?

Why. It’s a cotton t-shirt. Wash it in your machine like a normal person.

07
The print is cracking.

How many times has it been washed? Was it on hot? Did you iron the print? Did you let it sit balled up in the dryer? Did you use bleach “but only a little”? One of those things happened. Plastisol holds up for years if you don’t cook it.

That said, screen prints are a finishing process, not a forever guarantee. They will eventually wear in. That’s what they’re supposed to do.
